Lucinda E. Ali, licensed Kindermusik instructor, chose to pursue a career in music while studying at DePaul School of Music in Chicago. There she blossomed with Mark Zinger, being a Fellowship student of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the DePaul Symphony Orchestra where she was the concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and the concertmaster of the Opera Orchestra at DePaul. This afforded her the opportunity to get her Master of Music degree in violin performance on a full tuition scholarship. It was while at DePaul that Miss Lucinda discovered her love, gift, and talent for teaching children. She obtained her teacher training at the Chicago Suzuki Institute in Deerfield with Craig Timmerman, and later the same summer studied at Indiana University with MiMi Zwieg.

Niambi S. Muhammad, licensed Kindermusik instructor, has 18 years experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. She completed her training in Early Childhood Education at Harris-Stowe State College in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was able to easily combine her passion for teaching and music together early on in her classroom and her community. Once a student of a visual and performing arts high school, she knows firsthand how music offers a great balance and wholeness to the child. She began writing songs to bring lessons alive in the classroom. She has produced mini-musical presentations with a few schools, with songs she wrote. Some of her hobbies are singing, songwriting, dancing, baking, storytelling and playing her guitar (which she lovingly calls--"la guitarra").

Kindermusik Educator Statement of Belief & Commitment
As a licensed Kindermusik educator, I believe that music has the power to illuminate and enhance lives, to foster a sense of community and to tap the unique gifts that each child offers to the world. And I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to know, enjoy and grow with music.
I am proud of my capability to make the world around me a richer place by sharing my love and understanding of music, and I dedicate my abilities as an educator to bringing music into the lives of children in a positive, supportive and encouraging way. I recognize that music for children is not about perfection but about possibilities.
In my work as a Kindermusik educator, I am committed to supporting all of my Kindermusik colleagues, those in my local community and around the world. I understand that today only one child in 400 enjoys the benefits of Kindermusik, and I recognize and support the right of every licensed Kindermusik educator to reach as many children with music as possible. I will foster a spirit of mutual encouragement and boundless opportunity among my colleagues and will always let the best interests of the child guide my actions and decisions.
I will uphold the values and purpose of the Kindermusik curricula in my teaching. I will honor and abide by the policies that predicate my privileges as a Kindermusik educator, and I announce my intolerance for those who abuse this trust and dishonor the integrity of the Kindermusik mission.
I understand that Kindermusik curricula provide the structure necessary to shape a rich pedagogical and musical experience but also empower me to respond with flexibility and sensitivity in my classroom to honor the unique needs and individuality of every child.
I believe in the quality of Kindermusik music education materials and share the belief that these materials are necessary for the child's optimal learning. Every child who experiences Kindermusik through my program will enjoy the benefits of his or her own home materials.
And finally, at the heart of my work as a Kindermusik educator, I will demonstrate the Kindermusik conviction that the parent is a child's most important teacher, and the home is the most important place for a child's learning to take root and grow. I will guide families in bringing music into their children's lives believing that every child is gifted and every child is musical.
